I have spent my career searching for ways that I can help children and parents find success and happiness. After 15 years as a teacher and school counselor, I was inspired to branch out on my own to find a way to support families on a personal level. I am also a mom and have found my greatest joys and struggles in being a parent. My kids are now teenagers and finding their own way in the world. I have gained many life tools guiding them over the years and have helped them work through many challenges that kids may face. With my background in school counseling, behavior management and teaching, I have a unique understanding of children and the many issues that can arise during adolescence. I want to help your child and your family find the balance to enjoy each day. I have chosen to become a parenting consultant and youth coach and mentor to meet the needs of your family one on one. I am here to provide support and guidance as you navigate parenthood and support your child through coaching techniques that will help them become confident and empowered.
I love working with children. It has always been my passion and my purpose. Helping parents to better understand their children and the power of a positive relationship has become a branch of that purpose. I understand the importance of connection and the need for people to bond with others to feel secure and confident. I build bonds with my clients through respect, understanding and a genuine interest in seeing them be the best they can be.
I am a trained independent facilitator of the Love and Logic Parenting Curriculum: Parenting the Love and Logic Way and am currently completing a coaching certification. I love the Love and Logic no nonsense strategies and the focus on empathy to help your child be self regulated, empowered and happy. I have used this methodology with my own children as well as all of the students that I have worked with over the years. It is a powerful and effective program that supports families to become a more loving and respectful unit.
I hold a Master’s of Education in School Counseling and spent four years as a school counselor at the elementary and intermediate levels. This experience has given me many tools to support the challenges families face each day. While I will not provide therapeutic counseling as an LPC, my experience and education are a perfect fit for coaching and mentoring through the ups and downs of adolescence. Should you or your child need services outside the scope of my expertise, I can give you guidance on counseling and psychological service providers.
